I love the history lesson and your singing. Your knowledge and talent are so needed right now. Your voice is phenomenal! You remind me of Freddie Cole, younger brother of Nat King Cole.

The chromatic scale at the end is always so nice to listen to over and over. To do it on a horn is one thing, but to have control to do it with your voice is amazing. Thanks.

I first heard this song on Natalie's tribute album to Nat. I've been in love ever since. It's a HARD song because of all the key changes. You sing it so well! ❤️🎶

Wow. I had not recalled my previous comment. Good history on Ellington era.

Great stuff. Love Billy's music being Duke's guy. Check Lush Life as done later by John Coltrane tenor sax and Big Daddy Wayne Henderson trombone. Great history.

There is a fine recording of this tune, Lush Life, by the trombonist Wayne Henderson. He was a part of the Crusaders in the 70s and 80s. I'm sure you've heard it.
