It’s sad that Sammy has to apologize for telling the truth. Just because someone is dead doesn’t mean they were perfect. Eddie was one of the best guitarists ever we don’t have to lie about him.

Eddie was like most people, part asshole, part nice guy. Maybe more extreme on both ends than most people.

I read Sammy’s book. And I didn’t really feel like he was angry at Edward. It felt more like he was hurt by someone he considered his best friend at one time and he let that hurt out on the page. Kinda like real brothers that would sacrifice their life for the other, but when they fight over hurt feelings, they really lash out at each other and say the most hurtful things they can think of. I’m just so happy they were able to reconcile with each other before Ed passed.

Sammy never said anything that we didn’t already know. He told the truth and it didn’t make any of us love Edward any less. Ed is my hero. And as a former addict, I totally understood his behavior and everything that came with it. Eddie was human. Sammy did the book right. Miss you, Edward!

Eddie was an alcoholic, and most alcoholics who are not in recovery, are tough to be around.

He has absolutely nothing to apologize for, though I understand his regret.

I hope people don't rag on Sammy for this: He's a human being who was at his wits' end. He's a good person for admitting his wrongs.

Agreed, Sammy is a good guy. It wouldn’t be an autobiography if he left out all the bad . Of course, it was written before Eddy died and the fact that Sammy is thinking about this and making a statement on it now shows he really is a decent human.

Everyone knew that Eddie had "issues" and had a dark side, like all people who are very creative. I don't believe that Sammy should feel bad about telling the truth of his interaction with an exceptional artist like Eddie. Because in reality, it makes the average person feel better about themselves, knowing that even a musical genius like Eddie... is just like us. He's human!

Never apologize for telling the truth!
If folks can't handle it, that is on them, not Sammy.

Why would you leave out the part about the guy being an asshole? We are all going to die eventually, and the majority of us are assholes.

Eddie was such a huge loss in rock an roll. Such a innovator.

Get you a girl that looks at you the way John Travolta looks at Sammy.

If you write a book, tell the truth. Period. Sammy saying that he’d write it differently only because Eddie has passed is not being genuine or honoring Eddie in any way.

It’s okay Sammy. We’ve all had moments like this. Still love ya man. Thanks for all the great music and being a stand-up guy.

Everyone has said something at one time or another that they regret. It's unfortunate, not everyone gets the chance to apologize. Sammy did. He's Lucky 🍀

Dying doesn't give you a pass for everything you did when you were alive. It's ok for Sammy to tell the truth.

I talked with Eddie in private back in 83. He was just that a humble normal guy who told me if he was not doing this he would have liked to repair cars. A really good guy.
