Chaco Z/1 or Z/2 Sandal: Which one is right for you?

On the hunt for the perfect sport sandal? You’ve come to the right place. For over 30 years Chaco has been providing our consumers with the most durable, supportive sport sandals on the market, and it's time we told you more about them.

In this video, our VP of Global Product Adam Garrett breaks down the Z/1 and Z/2 sandals. Both Z/Sandals feature our podiatrist-accepted LUVSEAT footbed, our non-marking ChacoGrip™ rubber outsole, and a 360-degree customizable fit. Fit for any adventure, our Z/Sandals are ready for the tough terrains, or your everyday life!

For the classic year-round fit that accomodates even the coziest of wool socks in the chilly season, the Z/1 is your sandal. The toe loop featured in the Z/2 provides just a bit more stability, without sacrificing comfort. The toe loop wraps around the big toe, rather than pulling it straight back to make it completely adjustable and able to accomodate all shapes and sizes.

Now the choice is yours, toe loop, or no loop?

Having a good experience so far with my Z 2s. The toe loop definitely makes the sandals feel solid & secure and can hike in these for hours, though those of you with high-arched feet would be wise to stay away from this model. Each forward step will tighten the toe loop so much that it’ll cut off circulation in your toes, turning them blue in a few minutes. I was a bit weary from past testimonies initially addressing this issue, but you’ll be fine if you have average/medium or low arched feet otherwise.

Everyone tells me to ditch Teva and try Chacos.. but I can’t wear socks. Or so I thought.. the Z whatever that has no toe loop looks interesting now

I’m having a terrible experience with my z2’s. The toe loops cinch down tighter and tighter with each step causing severe pain. I’ve tried all the tricks and adjustments and have had no success. I was really wanting these to be my new go-to sandals… very sad.

What do you do with the extra strap that's hanging after you do all of the adjusting? :)

Do not buy. Mine were delivered to the wrong address and I was never reimbursed. Terrible customer service.
