I thought a lot about some guy sitting in that beautiful field 200 hundred years ago hammering a lg cent. He probably had a heavy accent, looking at the same mountains, wishing for the same things we wish for...It made me love this country.

The thumbing devil was the topper off a radiator cap. You can still buy them today. And it was thumbing his nose up to cops and anyone else who didn’t like the speeds the car could drive.

Hey Brad. I used to wonder how Quarter Hoarder kept finding those awesome places. Last summer I was privileged to perform at a country music show north of Harrisburg. That's when I realized Pennsylvania is a detectorist's paradise. Closing in on Charlie Harley and Dog Tag Doug's age so not sure if I'll be able to get back to hunt there. I can hope. GL&HH

You are probably too young to remember, the old folks "thumbed their noses" which was a gesture similar to our flipping the bird or giving the finger. Place thumb on nose and wiggle fingers.

I love your videos. My dad had a metal detector and took us kids to 40 of the 50 states. He had quite a collection of coins, jewelry and some oddities. He gave us adventures galore. I've traced my mom's side of the family from England to William Penn's colony, so I really enjoyed this one. Pennsylvania is one of the 10 states I haven't seen yet Thank you, Brad.

Those Hawks thought you were an injured Rabbit. As kids we'd put a blade of grass between our thumbs and blow. It made the same noise. I love the crazy man. This was a fun video! I don't remember seeing this but as my sweet loving father said to us kids if we said I don't remember, Aw hell. You don't remember where you s--t last.!. Oh the good old days.
