In this video, i used an ai generator from midjourney which allows me to create ai design in seconds. The ai generator creates 4 different versions of the website and makes it really easy to get inspiration for web design. I don't think this was meant to make websites. Seems like the best way to make a website with these AI pictures is to not ask for a "website mockup." Otherwise, you have to photoshop out all the embedded text. Instead, have an AI picture made up, upload it to your website builder, and then use the overlay to put text on the picture, and build the header on top of the picture through your web builder, etc. AI is not quite there yet.

I just love beautiful things and I've found out that I don't care how they are made.

The landing pages are beautiful, especially because of the images. I do wonder with some designs whether they can be made responsive so that the text remains legible.

I've been experimenting a little with this myself. I can see the potential but for now I don't see it as something I could use right now. On midjourney they look great but once taken to photoshop you can really start to see the flaws when you work closer with the image. A lot of the flaws can be fixed in photoshop but even with photoshop and AI upscaling on large screens the websites look a little tacky. But with how fast AI is evolving I'm sure it will be standard design in 12-24 months. When you have AI using servers outputting images in crystal clear high resolution quality then it will be a different story. It will be interesting to see what google comes up with. By all accounts their AI is off the scale

Maybe one day, but right now you can only use it for inspiration or small illustrations, not to build a full hero section. Most of the time the AI draw caracters with 8 fingers, 3 legs, or weird eyes. There is no way to ask for a correction. You cannot export all the layers separately, or in a vectorial format.. If you are lucky you get something exploitable, otherwise it s just an idea to send to a graphist..

They definitely gonna replace us in maybe 20years. But for now we can use these to make our designs even better. Just recently i used dalle to generate some images and used it on my design. It turned out really good.

highly unlikely that it replaces us product designers, a lot of the importance of what we do is facilitate problem solving, AI has only helped this process, and if it ends up actually doing production work for us one day that's great, we can then focus more on empathy and digging deeper with stakeholders and discovery work

Why are you using 'fintech' in the prompt for every site when they have nothing to do with financial technology? Would you have more design variety if you didn't use this?

Thanks Darrel for this great content as usual. I think it's kind of difficult to understand commercial rights with what you produce with Midjourney. Is it legal to use these mockups to build a website? That's would be great if you could make a video explaining how you can work with this tool legally and privately (meaning your work is not public). Again... great work!
