It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Ralph!

You can tell he’s reading the lines off prompt boards but still makes it sincere enough

I wonder if this was the inspiration for the following exchange during the scene where Lois interviews Superman:

LOIS: Do you have a first name?
SUPERMAN: What do you mean like, uh, Ralph, or something?

I wonder if this is part of what Christopher Reeve said about MB "phoning it in"

I am shocked because when I was 12 years old, nobody even knew Marlon Brando was he didn’t have a hit for seven years, coming godfather all the controversy with all the other things he did snubbing the Oscars and then six years of absolute garbage, especially that movie he did in 75 with Nicholson so you’re doing a superman movie you could’ve had and complete unknown do this part and save the money if you think anyone went to the theater Because Marlon Brand, you’re crazy what a waste of money and I’ll tell you better and I’ll tell you I look back and I don’t think it was a weekend. I didn’t go to the movies as a kid. My mom dropped me off, but we got a ride home and the weekends I drive my bike. There was nothing better than going to the movies.

He was messing up the speech from the start but they kept rolling. I laughed at how he said Ralph and still played it straight until they told him to just cut.

If his hair was red he would be the Donald.

Reeve couldn’t stand him. Even here he didn’t memorize his lines. He was brilliant when he was young. He dialed it in due to laziness when he was older.
