Nice video, this helped me retrieve an output variable from ado.net compontent, thank you! It's somewhat interesting that they are treated differently, the ole and ado.net-connections...

Thanks for the explanation, but how do you do this if you have an ODBC connection? I am trying to pull a single row dataset from a DB2 database using an ODBC connection and when I set the result set parameters (starting with 1), I get "Execute SQL Task: An error occurred while assigning a value to variable "MYVARIABLE": "[IBM][CLI Driver] CLI0122E Program type out of range. SQLSTATE=HY003". The ODBC connection works fine when tested and also when used in a data flow task from DB2 to SQL Server.
