As a homosexual, I am so happy that I am surrounded by supportive friends who I came out to and they are ok with it. I also came out to my older brother this year and he was very understanding. I have no plans to come out to my parents for now as advised by my brother I shall tell them about my preference when I am financially independent so that if incase they decide to throw me out, I can still fend for myself. I really cant imagine my close ones passing homophobic comments on me.

I too have a gay friend and we were not even that close when he opened up to me.Tbh I was shocked and felt a bit of strangeness. But later, I decided I'd never be what this society wants me to be. I'll support the right cause. I'll do what my heart says because I know my friend is my friend which is not a "specific" gebder for me. Again as you said, now when we talk we don't even remember each other's genders. We're simply good friends.
