When this song came out, my dad was in Iraq. The first time that I heard it a man walked up to my door wearing a military uniform and I thought something bad happened to my dad but the man just came and said he wanted to pray with us, and then this song came on the radio. This is my first time in years I can listen to this song my dad is fine thank you for your reaction your videos warm my heart

I’m a female Army vet injured in the Middle East when a vehicle I was in rolled over. My dad was a Marine. My brother was too until he was murdered in a terrorist attack at 24. I’m trying to type this through tears. Toby supported our military in ways not seen since Bob Hope. He was an icon. And he will be missed.

Lilly a 72 year old male, a veteran of the United States Army Reserve and very proud American! I am deeply touched by your emotional reaction, considering the fact that you are so young! THIS IS THE GREATEST COUNTRY ON THE FACE OF THIS PLANET and it gives me comfort to know that there are so many Americans in your age bracket and even younger that love, honor and appreciate the sacrifice of our military personnel. Give yourself a great big hug. Love and respect to you.

As a Canadian Soldier, I loved the patriotism of Toby Keith, I never really listened to a lot of his music until 2008 when I had the pleasure of hearing him sing in Kandahar, Afghanistan. and it was a hell of a show. Johnny taliban tried to shut down the concert by firing rockets at the camp, and after a brief intermission Toby started playing again. I truly will never forget that concert and how much fun and pride he brought to all of us deployed. RIP Toby Keith.

I am 71 years old and a veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam era. This song sums it up, there is nothing more prideful than knowing you have a duty, if need be, to protect everyone in the nation, not just your own family, but families across the US, and that protection could very well come at the expense of your own life. Salute every person you see who is in uniform serving our nation.

Tom McDonald is a great rapper and musician that speaks the truth about various subjects. Even though he's originally from Canada, he understands what's going on in America.

Thank you so much for your support. I served six years and deployed twice, once to Afghanistan and once to Iraq. I got out at the end of my contract because I wanted to start a family with my wife and actually be there for them. Which I have. One thing people forget these days is that the military is not beholden to the government. The government has fooled themselves into thinking we are at their beck and call. But we aren't. We are beholden to the constitution. And the day the government finally pushes their power too far, it is going to be hell for them. P.S. They are really pushing the limits right now.

Like I told a young lady complaining about a sign on a lawn supporting Canadian soldier, I said you might disagree with the war, you should ALWAYS support our Soldiers.

For a man who never served, Toby Keith captured the grunt life exactly in this song and video.

Even as an Australian, remember WE stood beside you in ALL your global conflicts, this make my hair stand; gives credence to "LAND OF THE FREE, HOME OF THE BRAVE". God bless ALL our Vets.

Toby knew how special it was to be an American. He appreciated our soldiers, he appreciated the ground under his feet, and he loved his country. Toby Keith was a true American and the red, white, and blue flowed through his veins until the day that he died. R.I.P Big Dog
