I remember my grandfather used to keep these in his his highest kitchen cabinet in his old house and would let me sneak one if my grandma was out in the yard or not paying direct attention to us. The ones he had though were older looking with some type of copper aluminum wrap labeled either lite or strong depending on the drink inside. Those were some of my best memories as a young child of my grandfather as nowadays he can't be as active due to health conditions and that he lives so far from me it nearly brought a tear to my eye thinking of it.

You can try this. I make it in large batches for parties and it tastes great. Recipe from my great aunt.

250g butter
300g thickened cream
1kg dark chocolate
6 tablespoons of Kahlúa
“Large pinch” of salt (be careful)

Melt everything in a big pot and then add the Kahlúa. Put it in a fridge till it firms up enough to shape it into bitesized balls. Roll the balls in desiccated coconut. Freeze those in a container until they’re solid.

If you want a more boozy taste you can go to 8 table spoons. Maybe further but you’ll have to start waiting longer for it to set. If you wanna use white chocolate I use Malibu instead.
