How to Apply Steri-Strips

Steri-Strips are customizable wound dressings available over the counter at most pharmacies. They can be a helpful way to avoid a visit to urgent care for minor lacerations (maybe an inch or less). Here’s how to use them: Cut the size Steri-Strips you’ll need. Apply benzoin to either side of the cut, using a cotton applicator. Peel off the necessary Steri-Strips, apply to the cut, with the ends over the benzoin. Expect to have the strips on for about a week, over time, the edges will peel up, trim down as needed until the strips fall off.
