This 60s classic was in the UK charts with so many memorial hits from the late 60s. It was said that the backing singer on this was Sunny Leslie, who fronted the original Brotherhood of Man and later in the early 70s a big hit with Doctors Orders. Why did record producers move away from the orchestra backing you hear on great songs like this.

One of those songs that should have been a much bigger hit for them in the US (this was their only US hit, peaking at #29 in the summer of 1968). While it was the follow-up in the UK to their version of "Everlasting Love" (which went to #1 there), that version was never released in the US because of Robert Knight's version that had been a hit here in the fall of 1967 (Knight also recorded this song first that year).
