I hope he has a swift and full recovery and we start drawing a line between what is news worthy and what is private medical events that are not relevant for the public to know.

I can't understand why this event was supposed to be a highly visible occurrence seeing that this man is in charge of the defense of the country.

Even though He serves our country, he is entitled to his privacy

Keeping Quiet was a Matter of National Security but the GOP Could Never Understand Something So Common Sense.

I understand confidentiality but this calllers next call should have been directly to the President and, if not, the Joint Chief of Staff.

I guess, unlike our 45th president, Sec. Austin doesn’t require everyone’s focus and attention.

It's a shame people can't respect this man's right to privacy.

Can he not have a little slack. Wow even the Princess of England wants privacy as to Her hospitalization. 😮

I’m confident that protocols will be strengthened so it doesn’t reoccur! Please allow Sec. Austin to recover in peace and move on.

He's a very good man. You can notice that by the way he's communicating.

It may be free to the public to hear this, but seriously guys?

Frankly, I think there needs to be fewer lights and sirens in residential areas. Calling for medical assistance shouldn't be a three ring circus of paramedics, police, ambulance, and fire trucks.

There's a chain of command for a reason. He's in charge of our nation's defense. He didn't have to disclose his medical condition but he at least should have told his second in command (who was on vacation) or his third. No one at the Pentagon knew where he was except that person who made the call. If something had happened time would have been wasted tracking him down.
