How To Remove Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan No Screws

preview_player
Показать описание
In this video I show how to remove a Hampton Bay ceiling fan that doesn't have any visible screws. The screws are hidden under a small ring that fits around the canopy. This ring rotates clockwise about an inch and slides down to reveal the screws. After that it is business as usual. Take caution when working with electricity.

5 years later this video is still helping others! My husband could not figure out what was securing the base. It’s black, so the ring seemed to be part of the main base. You unlocked the mystery for us! Thank you!!

Thank you! Gotta love youtube and the helpful people that bother to create howto's like this one. You saved me a lot of hassle and potentially destructive decisions fueled by nothing other than frustration!

With my husband up on the ladder trying to find where the screws are and my sister-in-law on a step stool holding the whole thing, and everyone ready to give up, I googled this, and your video saved us! Thank you!

August 2023 and your video helped me remove my 20 year old Hampton bay ceiling fan from the ceiling. I have to admit that the old fan is built like a tank. I purchased a newer Hampton Bay model to replace it with and we’ll see how it works out. I noticed the newone is made in China. Normally I try to avoid buying Chinese products but my wife fell in love with the fan. Thanks for your video.

OMG thank you so much! I looked at a half dozen other generic "How to remove a ceiling fan" and they all show you the cover that EVERYONE knows needs to be removed and all of a sudden it's gone with no instruction on how they did that. Thanks again. Greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for your video! We bought an old farm house that has a few ceiling fans (with that type ring) that needed replacement, but couldn’t figure out how to get them down. You and YouTube to the rescue!!! You saved us a ton of frustration!

This You Tube video saved my sanity. The ring on this fan was plastic and I couldn’t turn it so I used a flat blade screwdriver and a hammer. After several licks, the ring cracked and fell off. Problem Thanks

Never would have guessed that you turn the ring clockwise to release it. Thanks.

I wish I’d found this video before I called my next-door, neighbor around and three of us spent a happy hour screaming obscenities at the stupid fan. In the end, I still had to take a hammer and screwdriver to loosen that collar, but your video helped a lot. Thank you.

The evil thing about this ring is that is rotates the OPPOSITE direction from the standard "righty-tight, lefty-loosey" direction. I'd tried in vain to turn it the conventional direction, but when you mentioned "clockwise" that was the clue I needed to remove it. THANKS!

Short and sweet. One thing I'd like to add is it looks like you rotate the ring CW looking from the floor up, CCW to re-lock.

Thanks so much for this video. We had been fighting with the ring for quite some time until we looked for a video. Less than five minutes after watching the ring came off 👏👏

Part of the problem we had was it was a dark room (breaker off), and from a short ladder, it didn't even look like there was a ring at the top of the cover at all. It really looked like a one piece cover. Once we knew there might BE a ring, it made everything else a breeze. FYI...searched "ceiling fan cover no screws" and very little showed up. This video was VERY helpful. Wish we would have seen it before the swearing started....but thanks!
