When you trim it, leave a bit sticking out. It not only stops the whole thing coming from apart, it's also handy to keep bait on the hook, if you're running a worm on.

If you get some pliers and pull the loop back under the wrappings it will secure the end of the line under the wraps for a seamless finish, its called whipping and was used on ships and golf clubs handles cricket bat handles etc.

That not will come loose really soon. The tag end is not long enough, nor is it completely pulled under the wraps

i started doing this knot about 15 years ago, ….. when feeder fishing for barbel on the river it was the knot I would use if I had an eyed hook.. didn’t know there was a name for it as I just sort of did it….

i copied it from my spade end hooks i would tie in match Fishing but obviously you have the eye on the hook to put the line through instead of the spade hook that does not….

Works fine for me, and I’ve also used it in other applications as well and works a treat. Never comes loose and catches me decent fish. Anyone who knows how hard a big barbel can pull in a powerful river will know you need a decent knot. Everyone has their own favourite go to type of knot .

Most of which are suffice….

you just find the one that suits you and does the job !!

Я не рыбак и никогда не увлекался. Но так залипательно смотреть как они готовят снасти. Аккуратно, кропотливо. Узелки вяжут, мармышки плетут.

Надо либо обрезать подлиньше и обжечь хвостик зажигалкой, либо завязать контр узелок на хвостике.
