Attendre et Espérer

62 years ago today my father came into the world. 2 years and 169 days ago he left it. Though there is nothing to say about death that has not been said many times by many eloquent mourners, there is some comfort in saying something. So I’m very content to announce that this June I’ll be releasing my second full-length album, Attendre et Espérer. It was made over the last two years with a lot of help from a lot of wonderful people. I’m really looking forward to sharing it.

The artwork for the album is derived from Thomas Moran's 'Entrance To The Grand Canal' (1906). The collection of Moran's paintings at the Philbrook Museum of Art, where my father worked when he was younger, were some of my his favorites and, briefly working security there myself in 2012, I also fell in love with the movement of Moran's style and his near-heavenly use of light. Moran's seascapes are especially beautiful and Death is but a ferryman.
