A couple skate techs I didn't see here are:
Sparrow skating (e.g with semi rotation or atw)
T-crash skate (eager, t-crash, swap to different subclass).
Also, with warlock strand skate, it can be used to pass through small push back barriers. Similar to hunter bb, but more potent as you can carry more speed.

For controller/console players: for shatterskating, you don’t have to rebind “hold crouch button to shatterdive”. Simply hold crouch at the edge (I turned off toggle crouch), then press heavy attack then jump quickly. The shatterskate will work because you automatically shatterdive when you leave the edge. It’s a nice consistent simplification.

missing strand skate on hunter. which you can do on any slope. Sometimes more useful then shatterskate since depending on the map theres can more slopes then there are ledges and it works while standing on a sparrow. its heavy attack then dive. the jump isn't needed. you can also grapple after the skate to go even further. You can also chain multiple strandskates together with lament is theres a long slope.

I have mastered wellskate and have had so much fun with it and consistently hit my ground skates about 95% of the time and I’m on Xbox lol so it’s very much possible for you console players that think it’s impossible.

You honestly deserve 100x the amount of subscribers you have. Your videos are always super clear, straight to the point and just all around great. Once I saw those old 3 minute Raid Encounter videos I fell in love.

Wellskating didn't work for me until i noticed that you have to press super and jump at the same time during the animation of the sword heavy swing.
Am i correct in this since nobody on platform seems to mention this?

Please pin this or add it to the description or something. I don't even want a shoutout or anything I just want to see the whole community flying around lol.

I've been trying to spread the love with well skating and learned a simple way to do it. I'm just too lazy and ignorant to make any videos or posts about it..

All you have to do is hit heavy attack + jump at the same time and then super after. It gives you a ton of leeway on the timing on your super and I can hit my skates every single time with ease.

THEN you can take it a step further and do attack + jump followed by super + jump. You can hit both inputs simultaneously on both parts and it will perfectly skate you and activate glide on takeoff.

I've shown my whole discord and a good few LFGs how to do it and every single person gets it almost immediately. For some reason I have seen absolutely 0 people teaching it like I described, but it turns it into an easier tech than using the Overload shot on Le Monarch.

can gorund skating also be done with shatterskate?

btw for shatterskaters, you can do it off of your sparrow too.

Skating with the warlock strand super is actually useful because it lets you bypass push-back barriers. It's great for going out of bounds, especially when combined with sparrow flying.

1 thing to mention, holding jump makes the hunter go higher

For any newcomers who really don't want to go on stasis Hunter or solar Warlock, you can skate with strand Hunter (Ensnaring Slam), but the mechanics are a bit different (same outcome/velocity). You can also do a similar motion with strand Warlock. If you Weavewalk after an eager edge light attack, it maintains momentum and shoots you forward a bit. Just spam your air dodge and jump until you run out of melee energy. For point of reference, you can easily get from Rhulk to the previous encounter area with just this, it's just not as speedy as a typical skate.

Hm i know im doing the same input like last time before the new season started on shatter skate on controller but i think there something changed cuz when i do it perfectly it just does the air attack from the sword and just doesn't launch me anymore

blink is more momentum based that directional, looking up does help a bit but even if u turn around u still blinkin the way you're moving

Honestly my favorite part of ground skating is that you can do it with lement. The imputs are the same you just have to block when doing it. (Correct me if im wrong on that)
I loved the idea of having a form or lement skating back lol.

@10:45 when you skate with Shatterdive, it's indeed possible to make that jump and it works consistently with almost no issue.
You need to swap weapons once you initiate the shatterdive. If you keep your sword on, you lose momentum slowly over time. Rather, if you swap immediately to your guns after initiating the dive, you maintain momentum and on the third jump you are basicall already over the final platform you need to land on. If not, equip again the sword and use the Eager edge again which will push you forward in mid air.
EDIT 1: as many mentioned below, not sure if you were even fully pressing the jump key in the case too throughout the all skating process!

Seeing you are covering this and with Bungie announcing banning people using 3rd party software more now including macros. Would you say skat macros are included or not?
