A lot of that is set up, brand of strings, action, electronics, or build quality.

Asher Guitars made and May still make a set of tele pickups he calls Sweet Ts. Best neck tele pickup I’ve ever heard/played.

I think it’s a combination of things but specifically the frequency response of the materials at string contact points throughout the guitar.

Jazzmasters are all about SETUP! Often times this requires an appropriate neck shim, cheap and easy. They can be very stable.

my 2 cents for this item:
- you will never know unless you played minimum 20 to 30 guitars
- a guitar custom builder said to me: from 10 guitars i make, 2 are great, 6 are medium okay, 2 are not to like...
- it a balance between sound and playability (and weighth/look/Music style if you want).
i have a tele that sounds really awesome, but the neck is too tiny for my hands and i dislike the string distance to the body and the weight is too light for my like. nevertheless its my best sounding guitar. Not played often.
- i have some acoustically superb guitars that dont translate to electric sound, no matter what pickups i rotate in them.
- i have a extremly expensive and super sounding strat that neck hurts my hands in 5 minutes playing.
- you need different guitars for different music styles.

It's a weird phenomenon. My prettiest and most expensive guitar, a hardtail strat, has gone through 3 different iterations of the strat in it's life. I've tried everything I could think of with it and It STILL just doesn't hit home like my other guitars. It's a bummer because it has a one of a kind flake finish on it.

If the guitar is alive acoustically...it's a good one.
Hang the guitar by the neck, pluck the"G" string and touch the body...
If the body is moving/ringing....😉👍
