Nintendo REALLY Needs A New Switch, Profits DIVE 71% Is THIS the END?

When I was young almost everybody could even get at least a second hand GBC or GBA (and I'm from Uruguay, 3rd world). Now I feel like the Switch is a luxury Item, not even mention the forthcoming the SwitchTwo, and I'm as poor as I was when teen so. I don't know, economy and their present high prices might have to do.

Nintendo has continued to be innovative, don't think steam deck is gonna replace them. I honestly think they should focus on where they lead the charge and that's great games on handhelds. Graphics can't compete with the competition but you can still take your fav games on the go. They lost the console war, but won the handheld one!! Sony tried and failed if you remember your history. Imo they started their decline when they lost squaresoft games. Also lest we forget, Sony and Xbox spawned off Nintendo. Sony directly, Xbox indirectly. Nintendo was the brain baby of the Atari. Think they just tried to appeal too long to those with limited income, and as times get harder sales plummet. I'll always love Nintendo. Seriously doubt they are going anywhere anytime soon. Too much money with just the name alone.

the switch may be old, it doesn't change the fact that i'm nearing a collection of 100 physical games. It's the console that provides me with the most fun and it allows me to bring it at work to play during my lunch break. Yes, third party games are rough on it but it's to be expected, in fact, it's been like this since the wii, so it's not like it's a new thing for third party games to have to be downgraded.

This isn't just a switch thing, the PlayStation 5 too, is dropping quite a bit in sales. People are just not buying hardware as much as last generation because the economical context is garbage for most people right now, i know here in canada, food prices have gone so high we just can't do anything but comply and buy at overly inflated prices for our survival. So obviously my plan of getting a PS5 was thrown out the window because it meant having a debt with the credit card company. Wouldn't have been a smart decision.

Also, the march date is just the announcement date. Who knows when they will release it. Another thing that bites me is that how long has it been since the switch has gone through price adjustments? It's $350 for the oled version and $300 for the regular version. Which is 7 years old at this point. They need to lower price on at least the original version and lite versions. People arent willing to spend so much on antiquated tech when newer stuff that's better is coming out.

The sales went down because people knows that switch 2 is coming out. Plus they sold 140m units already it's not like they'll buy more than 1 so at some point they've reached the max point of selling. So they're not worried. Because the 1st party games are still making a lot of money. Lastly stop comparing nintendo to the others. Steamdeck, Ally hell even portal can all play the same games. But Nintendo has a strong first party games that they don't need to compete in hardware.

All the hardware sales are down this applies to all consoles and pc and mobile they are all being affected i also think nintendo waiting due to the Economy and worry their next hardware wont sell as well as the the switch i think they will be fine its prabsbly a wait and see what will happen .

I feel they keep delaying it because of the handheld market. Nintendo is a giant in console gaming but their handhelds have been a bit antiquated recently. They have some tough competition that exists in the current market and they need something gamechanging to make a bit impact. What they need to do it team up with amd, release a switch console that has a dual purpose as an x86 device for other games. Or allow nintendo on pc and sit back and rake in the millions in royalties.

Lol they're not in trouble. This is a scam tactic to force them to showcase their new system. Let's be honest. Graphics power lovers still not going to love the new switch 2. Cause they never liked the Wii, WiiU, and the Switch. Then there's people who say they want something new? Please, people complained about the controllers as gimmicks. So Nintendo isn't in trouble. Personally they're being level headed with the current economy and resources. And like this man just said, he endorses the Steam Deck. So knowing Nintendo it's next system won't be any stronger than that. And those who say we want new games. Like bro and sis, we have been getting new games the last few years. 7 years life spam are really good for consumers, but should be hardware relases every 5 years.
