Metroliner Set 10001 Converted to LEGO Powered UP

This is instructions for converting your LEGO Metroliner Set 10001 from 2001 to use LEGO Powered UP. Originally this is a 9 volt train using the powered rails. The Powered UP system is the newest train control system and this allows the train to run on the plastic track instead of metal tracks.

There are only a few additional parts needed:

x2 Red 2x3 Brick 3002
x2 (any color) 1x4 Plate 41740
x4 Light Grey 1x1 Brick 3005
x1 Powered Up Train Motor Kit 88011
x1 Powered UP Hub 88009

Thanks this was healpful as i did not have 9 volt tracks and can not be botherd.

Why didnt you put the battery box in the middle where the "engine" is located. If you remove the engine pieces, there is enugh space and the bistro space stays intact. To Power up my metroliner i usually use the luggage space in the other "end car". Fir that, you only have to remove the arch
