The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released the 6th edition of its report on 20 March 2023. Scientists issued a “final warning” to limit the rising global warming to 1.5°c–the threshold for climate breakdown. Article 14 spoke to climate researcher Avantika Goswami about how rising temperatures would not only usher in a climate catastrophe, but also irreversibly change vital ecosystems.
