This video will be my only vintage sewing pattern haul for the year! Hopefully, I really want to buy and consume less
I want to use what I have more and use it better.
I want to put more time into learning how to really sew and design.
I want to learn to alter my vintage sewing patterns and alter my modern commercial sewing patterns as well.
I want to earn how to adapt sewing patterns and to combine them.
But my dream and ultimate goal would be to learn to design my own sewing patterns to come up with garments I really love and can be proud of! So thats my plan for 2022 I hope I can reach my goals with you guys cheering me on its definitely possible!

Hi, (waves in pattern nerd) I always love to see how folks store their patterns. Also, I am gathering info on dating patterns, including when folks stopped doing unprinted tissue. Best guess is it will be a summer video, but I am ON IT for you.

I asked my 91 year old mother if she remembered when printed patterns came to be popular . She said she thought it was the early 50's . She remembered when patterns were 29 cents, !

Love your pattern collections. Years ago the patterns were unmark because the manufacture assumed that the user had basic sewing knowledge. Here is a link to another youtuber who frequently uses no instructions or marking vintage pattern. I believe if you watch a few of her videos you will become more familiar with those unmark patterns.

I love your sewing goals. I believe looking through all the vintage sewing pattern videos helps the creative flow. The gloves, go for it, be sure the fabric stretches, i tried once and want to try again, the challenge is sewing the fingers. Make mittens for sure, watch recycled sweaters into mittens, they turn out great. One thing I loved making was a 1940s dress that had a wrap pemblum tie up. It was such a creative addition to a dress. Then caplets, I love 1950 caplets and swing coats....All day long....Keep inspiring.

I looked up on the vintage pattern wiki that there is a Simplicity 2022 from 1957. That's a fun idea to sew the year by pattern number. I thought about sewing a pattern from the year I was born as a fun project for me. Maybe I'll go with pattern numbers instead because my style isn't really early 90s.

Love the patterns. The Closet Historian just put out a slip video. Loved her fabric selection. I can't wait to see what you sew.

Love those patterns! I can't wait to see your pinafore and blouse for sewing. What a cool idea.
I'm also looking forward to the 1960s pattern you showed first with those cute almost bell shaped elbow sleeves.

I don’t think I have ever seen a glove pattern. How neat… subscribed!

I love the idea of sewing the "year" 2022 and 2023 pattern. I tend to gravitate towards the same eras as you do and it's nice to throw in something random as a way to think outside the box with fabric and styling (Within limits of course...imagine if you landed on a crazy costume pattern!)

Your collection is making me want to try. I love the 2133, I love the top part of 4089. The hat came out The 8878. I was born in the late 60s. 1968.

You placed in the (maybe), I fell in love with the coat that Whoopi Goldberg had in the movie The Associate I can't find that pattern anywhere, the collar is what I liked the best it was one that wasn't tight looking. You know maybe there was more than one coat in the movie? It was a very long time ago

Beautiful vintage patterns. My favorite is the Mcalls 3528a & 9802. I love those full skirts too! They are very flattering. I am sure all your pieces will be lovely. It gets very hard to choose vintage patterns. I always find a “ I just have to have it “ moment. Happy Sewing💖🙏🏼 Mrs. Williams

Love all those patterns, so can't decide which you should sew and I think you should sew the ones first you like too xD
and only because you asked about revers (I don't mind if someone pronounces something wrong! I do it all the time because English isn't my native language) I learned that it is of French origin and so the s at the end is silent. At least in German we pronounce it that way. So you said it almost right only without the s :D (again at least that's the way we pronounced it in German Tailoring school, could still be different in English xD)

I love these! Can’t wait to see what you make. I am also trying to build a wardrobe and plan not just more dressy pieces but also some proper denim jeans, 49er jacket and trousers for working in the garden.

Good haul, Ms. Drew. I honestly wouldn't know where to start, except maybe by coin toss. The idea of using an apron as part of your kit when filming is brilliant. And feel free to add more pockets or to-size slots for things like pens, scissors, batteries and such. I think I need to get back to wearing my old food service apron during the day to give me a sense of structure, maybe.
For the gloves you'll need to either find yourself a 'glove darner' on the ebay (the prices are semi-decent if you can find one in wood). Or use one end of a Sharpie pen... when you are working on the fingers and, especially the fingertips.

I've been looking for a proper slip that actually fits me. And since it's been a bunch of decades of looking I guess I'll wait until something close to my size shows up in Stephanie Canada's shop.

I love that you are planning on using the pattern stash you already have. It's very similar to my goal this year of not buying patterns (or fabric 😭) and to just use what I've already got to create a vintage wardrobe. I'm planning on documenting everything over on my rebooted YT channel if you're interested in following along (There's really only the channel trailer so far)

Also, I love that you sewed the hat and attempted the gloves. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE show the Mrs. Maisel outfit when you finish. I just know it'll be gorgeous
