Occupational Health and Safety is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being of a worker and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity (WHO, 1946).). It involves the promotion and maintenance of the highest degree of physical, mental and social well-being of workers in all occupations. It is the protection of workers in their employment from risks resulting from factors adverse to health. It is also the placing and maintenance of workers in an occupational environment adapted to physical and mental needs.
