Isn’t it amazing that the essence of hope and inspiration just happened to be a marketable plushie :D

“It just didn’t play as well as we wanted” basically means “we were too lazy to make it work, and we wanted some plushies”

How the mighty have fallen. A Shape-Shifting Starboy, a Romantic Love-Interest for Asha, a Villain Couple who also the Protag's Parents, a finale Princess Dress, and a possible 2D hand-drawn Love Story Movie for their 100th celebrations.

All of those just for a marketable plushies.

This is the point the production where they should’ve stopped. His original design was perfect. It was so creative and expressive. They just wanted a marketable plushie.

They could kept the original magical guy character and make him have the ability to turn into an adorable star.

Star: Please don’t turn me into a marketable Plushie.

Animation 101, my ass. We all want that shape shifting starboi. He would've been a so much more interesting character than any of Asha's empty ass friends.

I wish they kept the shape-shifting boy character. The original design was better.

As someone who’s into creative writing, I can understand having to cut or rework a character for a story. I’ve done it a few times. However, simplifying Star was ultimately not the way to go. He’s basically a sidekick, and Asha already had one of those. She needed a solid character to bounce off of and develop. I’d like to know what the exact issue was with this character that made it not work, but making it into a marketable plushie is… questionable at best.

"So I this wish! TO HAVE SOMETHING MORE TO LIFE THAN THIS"- practically defines people's reaction to this movie

If only they could shape-shifting WISH into a better movie.

The movie represents what Disney has become in the last years, laziness and simplification

Simple means less money. No love went into this film whatsoever

It’s a luma. A luma from Mario. That’s why it works.

So lemme get this straight…
They created a character who 1) Wasn’t the classical cute lil mute supernatural being. 2) Was a humanoid star creator who could shapeshift. 3) Potential love interest for Asha??
But they were just like: guys, I don’t feel like making something good this year. Yk, the year we are celebrating 100 Years of all things. NAH. Let’s give em something we have done for years that clearly hasn’t been working out. Yeah, that should pay this months rent 😁😁😁”

Man no shade to the artists and technical people that worked on this By my gosh it's final plan was so half assed. This proves this movie had the chance to have heart
