Okay, WAIT! I'm going to be VERY vulnerable here. I am a newbie/to old to be a newbie to self sustainability person. I have never known the process of what it literally looks like to turn your scraps into compost. Like the length of time, to the different times of breaking down, to the sifting, to the sifting again. What I'm trying to say is, thank you! This video was perfect.

I have that tumbler and I just keep adding more food on top of the composted stuff and rotating side to side instead of sifting it. This was really helpful to see. Thank you.

Composting is so fascinating to me, I’ve been taking my food scraps to my city’s drop off location for 5 years now. Also, I would love to see a video review of your ebike! I’m thinking of getting one but I live in an apartment with stairs and cannot imagine carrying a heavy bike up and down the stairs 😭

When you use a raised composter, worms can't come up from the ground. That's why she is wondering how the worm got in. Composting on the ground allows worms and bacteria to help the composting process. Rain also helps. It is a little harder to turn the compost over by hand. Both ways work, on the ground is slightly faster, especially if you keep it turned. Also, you generally need two piles or bins. One to keep adding to while the other one can be used. Sifting is good, so you can let the large pieces keep composting but not totally necessary.
