NZG Wirtgen W 250i Cold Milling Machine (Updated Nomenclature)

This is the review of the NZG Wirtgen 250i Cold Milling Machine, or as it is commonly referred to here in the States, Cold Planer. This machine is used to remove layers of asphalt in preparation for new paving projects. The model is excellent, with great detail, decals, and function. The price is high, but in this case it is worth it. If you're looking for an unusual machine in your collection, look no further.

As someone that has operated/operates these I'm really impressed with this model. It's a shame you can't get it loading properly in to a truck but I guess you have to take what you can get. If you've got any questions feel free to ask, haha, and I only wish that companies kept those canopies on them.

Awesome model. I have it also, but not with the updated graphics. The smaller 100 W F profiler is also a a nice piece. NZG does make highly detailed paving equipment. As does WSI with their Volgele 1800-3, wheeled, or tracked pavers ( two of my favorite models). I have heard it is because the Wirtgen Group insists on the high level of detail, if these model manufacturers want the licensing writes.

I have the NZG 2100-3 with long screed, and 5200-2, pavers. And 2 NZG offset asphalt feeders (forget the #, might be 3100); along with the 2 WSI pavers. The Volgele models are especially detailed. But as you said, Hamm, Voglele, and Writgen itself, are all part of the Writgen Group. Oh, I also have 3 NZG Hamm roller/compactor models in my collection. And some Norscot, DCM, CAT pieces, and a couple of Ross - Ammann rollers as well. Still want to get the NZG, Writgen soil stabilizer. I have had multiple opportunities, but always end up buying another model.

Sorry I went on for a bit, but paving models are my favorite specialty construction equipment pieces. Which kinda sucks for me, as I have been told they are some of the least popular models. Same person told me that crane, mining, and heavy haulage are the most popular models, thus I would assume they hold the most value. Well I have decent # of heavy haulage trucks/trailers at least, so I guess did okay their (lol)! But I listen to what you say. Only buy a model if you like it. I think if people do that, the whole value thing will sort itself out.

Thanks again for the nice work with this video. Sometime in the future I am looking to start making my own videos to post on UTUBE. Not as means to make money, or to get viewers or likes-(but viewers and likes would be nice!). But simply to show my slowly, but surely, growing model collection with other collectors.

I’ve been trying to find one of these. Could you tell me where I can find one?
