Do you have any information beyond what Andrea said? Andrea did not say that a9III is going to be announced on Nov 8, he just said there will be an announcement, and a9III is one of the possibilities. a9III could be faster than a1 but at a lower resolution, that makes sense. By the way, a1 can shoot 8K 30p, not just 24 and 25, and it's full width, no crop.

Hi Simon, the a9iii sounds exciting for high-end Sony shooters. If anybody deserves a firmware update, it must be the a1 owner who so far received the lowest-firmware-value per camera-investment.
Have you read the August CIPA numbers on nikon rumors ?? This time some interesting stats on dslr versus mirrorless versus compact cameras !

I predict the a9 II will be better and faster, faster, faster. It’ll compete against the R3. Of course Sony will update its alpha1 as well.

Happy Thanksgiving weekend, Simon.
Mine is special because I picked up my A7CII yesterday. It is a 2nd body to my A7RV. All I need now is a compact lens for travel with the A7CII.
I should be happy with this equipment for a few years, and maybe take as much time to recover budget wise, LOL.
I'll still get my eyes and ears open to everything coming out by the different manufacturers. All the technological advancements in recent months is quite exciting, isn't it!

A9 III will feature the A7RV AF AI chip x 2, A1 sensor and have a much faster pipeline and sensor readout speed for that FPS...no need to be a rocket scientist with this...

Doing Thanksgiving Sunday with my youngest uncle coming over with his family. We got a smoked ham, a small turkey (not a favorite amongst Chinese, so its just to satisfy those of us born here), my famous stuffing, mash potatoes with some roasted sweet potatoes, and I'm gonna try my hand at apple cider. Not sure what my uncle's wife will bring to hit those Chinese taste buds. I may try to fit in homemade icecream to match our frozen apple pie, if i can leave work early enough today. Its been a busy week with my daughter's dance gala Sunday evening, which i took pictures and videos (shes bugging me to turn it into a Youtube video). Octoberfest special Thursday, Thanksgiving special Friday, a catering gig on Tuesday...yeah, i'm wipped out, and i still have Sunday Thanksgiving to handle.

And if he is correct . . . Canon is yet another tech generation behind Sony with Canon's new flagship bodies at least a year out (for the general public). Sony is making it incredibly difficult for Canon to produce a flagship camera that isn't embarrassingly behind.
