Even if we go by damage alone without control time, Islam won, because medical professional found that Volk was more damaged by suspending him for a month while Islam only gets 2 weeks. Islam bruised & Volk got cut and bled. All strikers can keep crying.

Note: many Volk's fan laughed at this & rightly so, not realising that i was trolling Volk's fans who often reply with Islam's bruised face as another proof that Volk won. Those sore losers dont like it when im using their own argument against them😄

I’ve watched their first fight several times now and its so tough to call. It definitely wasn't a robbery but it was so close. I only saw Islam winning by an inch or a draw. Thankfully the second fight answered all questions.

I wanted volk to win so badly because of the underdog allure, and he performed way better than anyone in recent memory against Islam. With that said Islam clearly won in my book

So leon won 1st round against kamaru usman at ufc 278 while taking him down taking back body triangle for 2 minutes without doing any damage while Usman was winning 1st 3 minutes, leon won that round, no body has problem

we need to reform the criteria so fighters aren’t rewarded for laying on top of someone to keep the fight tied up at a standstill for “control time.” In my opinion control time is irrelevant unless paired with effective ground and pound or legitimate submission attempts (not just half-assing failed attempts) So taking a fighters back just to sit there and catch your breath while he’s unable to strike or effectively fight is not impressive or a sign of progress in the fight. More accountability needs to be placed on the judges and we need the proper criteria correctly taught to them. While he’s not a better fighter than Volk, I’ll give him that he was smart enough to take a compromising position when he “controlled” Volk so the ref couldn’t separate them when he did nothing with said position.

I think they need change the way rounds are scored to stop wrestlers dominating fights but not actually doing any damage or really progressing the fight the fact a takedown is worth more on the scorecards than a significant strike that wobble someone is silly, volk won that fight

As per judges it would have been draw 2-2 🤷🏻‍♂️

But Makhachev no way would have lost his title. He just completely outstruck alex .
