I've had it happen that the screw didn't want to back out (even when running the drill in the correct direction)
usually shoving something underneath the screw head to get it moving (like a fingernail or possibly the end of a small flathead screwdriver) is enough, and then it can be gently backed out as normal

Everyone saying he didn’t have the drill in reverse clearly hasn’t had this happen to them. Obviously this wouldn’t be an issue if you could just back it out how they are meant to work. The whole premise of this being an issue is exactly that the reverse doesn’t work to begin with
