Is the ALL NEW 2022 Ford Maverick a BETTER small truck than a Santa Cruz?

The Maverick name is back but Ford has changed things up for 2022. On the outside of this compact truck you will find LED lighting, 17in wheels, and short bed. On the inside you will be greeted to tons of passenger space, 8in infotainment system, and lots of storage areas. The Maverick comes standard as a hybrid but can be optioned with the 2.0L EcoBoost power plant, Is the ALL NEW 2022 Ford Maverick a BETTER small truck than a Hyundai Santa Cruz?

About damn time, I was talking with a driver last week how the small trucks of the 90s would b a gold mine if they would bring them back. Specially since all they sell is crossovers in the market wright now, not everyone can afford a big or midsized truck. This is a no brainer that took way too long to bring back.

When he said "if you're ready, i'm ready" I thought he was about to drive it out of the building. This thing will do great at that price point, especially since there's no more $20k base trucks with the death of the 4 cylinder Frontier. I know a lot of people that want the usefulness of a truck without the size or price. They don't need to tow an RV or go off road.

Looks better in person than that long-lead vid they sent out. I'd go with the turbo, as a truck needs all the power it can get, at this size. Very nice! This would've been a real option when I was shopping for a truck earlier this year. I ended up with a 2019 Ridgeline and couldn't be happier.

I ordered the XLT with the off-road FX 4 package Ecoboost. It's basically a lariat but with the cloth interior. I opted out for the 360 copilot software which gives you alarms if you stray to close to the centerline or the shoulder, and alarms if you get to close to an object. I opted out of the moon roof which was like a $900 option. Mine was just under 30k. The one here is probably around 35k. They also have a first edition package which is a lariat but with a few options like the 8speaker dynamic sound system and a special paint color orange. The one shown here could actually be a first edition. That would set you back about 37k. For the price and option packages I think this is going to be a very popular choice for the average person. The only issue is the wait. They say in the fall, which I hope don't mean December.
