Neet Row: DMK MP Calls for Scrapping Unnecessary NEET After SC Cancels Results For 1,563 Candidates

DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran on June 13 welcomed the SC’s order of cancelling results of 1,563 NEET UG candidates. He demanded the NEET Examination to be scrapped and argued that the exam just creates pressure on the students leading to their suicides.
“Our Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin had said that NEET is unnecessary. The suicides which took place in Tamil Nadu is a serious issue. Look at Kota, students are hanging themselves, and the govt installs springs on fans to prevent it. The real reason is the kind of unnecessary pressure put on students. The kind of malpractices taking place in North India is wrong. The SC’s order is welcome, but the core problem still remains, do we need NEET? I think NEET should be scrapped,” said Dayanidhi Maran.

Several TN politicians own medical colleges and are losing crores of rupees by way of capitation fees due to NEET. Mr. Maran several examinations conducyed by Tamilnadu Public service commission have been scrapped due to malpractices and leakage of question papers. Will you scrap TNPSC and recruit on the basis of marks in qualifying examinations?

There are numerous scams in TNPSC, 2 yrs after writing exams results are published and even for the exams which are conducted thorough online the results are delayed by a year while in the same period Upsc had recruited 2 batchs and IBPS has recruited nearly 6 batches. Lets scrap this less competent TNPSC then we can go for NEET

Tamilnadu have best medical facilities + best doctors in the country, all were achieved without NEET, only backward states which can't conduct exam without paperleaks, should have NEET, on top of that state govt funds all the state govt colleges + hospitals, it should have take on how the recruitemnt is done

Yes NEET should be scrapped and we should have old system of paying 1 crore for MBBS seat in all dravida party owned medical colleges. Due to NEET there was huge loses for dravida party medical colleges in TN.

Stalin goes to UK for treatment. Jayalalitha to Singapore or Apollo for treatment. But many doctors who get admission with 33% marks due to 87% quota In TN or by paying 1 crore per seat to dravida medical colleges. Stalin will not even go to doctor from dravida medical college who paid 1 crore for MBBS seat.

You say students going for coaching and those who are living in the city gets qualified. Aren't you ashamed to say this as a politician?, as a member from a state's ruling party? as a MP? What you should've done is to train the students in the rural and sub-urban areas for NEET for free, or atleast at a low cost than the private coaching centers. Then every student would be assessed in a same scale. This would reduce the sucide rate. It is a whole piece of shit to say no need NEET. Of course there were lot of stuff have happened this year. but solution is not what you say.
