You say that the suit is recorded to fly at Mach 0.17 which would make it impossible for the suit to break the sound barrier, which it does. In the movie the Mark 3 breaks the sound barrier on multiple occasions and in the F22 scene Tony goes supersonic which is anywhere from 750 - 1, 499 miles per hour.

The Mark 3 is a Red and Gold Version Of The Mark 2 But Mark 2 is all Silver Because The Mark 2 and The Mark 3 Are Both Identical to Each Other Because Of Their Back Leg Thrusters And Chest Plating Design
