I would love this but can't justify the 6 or 7 grand it'll probably cost. I'd rather just stick with my M1 MBP and have an older iPad running sidecar like I already am for travel. Apple has lost it's mind with pricing.

Not sure which laptop you showed but Lenevo already has the concept you showed in their line up called think pad x1 fold without anything in between.

Also I would highly recommend naming the models and manufacturer for any product you are showcasing..

We just want a headless Macbookpro with a magnetically attached ipadpro as display. When attached it runs macos. When detached it runs iPadOS. Easy.

I bet there will be a larger version that comes out a year or two later. I’m really more excited about the larger version. Right now I carry around a MacBook and an iPad together so that I can have dual screens. But the fact that the MacBook Pro isn’t touchscreen is extremely frustrating.

Would be a very useful product. However, do I have to say it-yes, for me they would still have to have a MacOS/ iPadOS hybrid OS. Otherwise the Lenovo would still be more useful. Also, for me I would prefer 2 separate screens like the Lenovo rather than a full screen foldable.

I wonder if they can make a virtual keyboard feel more tactile with their topic engine, and also use AI or something to detect what key you’re attempting to press, and even if you didn’t press the right spot, still triggered the right key. Like the up-and-down arrows, you can probably detect whether you’re pressing the up arrow versus the down arrow based on how much of the tip of your finger you’re using instead of just the position of your finger.

I've been using a Macbook Pro M2 Max for about 1.5 years now and love it but can't stand the lack of touchscreen. Grown tired of waiting on Apple to add touch support, and the reality is I doubt they ever will as they really want to sell everyone a laptop and iPad, so I'm going to be move back to Windows once the new Arm based laptops come out.
