2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy Driving Review | Fun to Drive!

In this video I tell you about my experience driving the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy AWD over a week. I have always had a positive opinion of the Santa Fe however this solidified my opinion even more. The 2.5T offers a fun driving experience with the powerful Turbo engine and a snappy DCT. I will say this powertrain is not for everyone but luckily Hyundai has two more to choose from. I really like the Hybrid for what it offers in terms of value and efficiency. Combine this with the torque converted automatic and you have a very smooth driving experience with great fuel economy. Physical buttons are everywhere and overall ergonomics are good. The driver assistance technology is some of the best in the class. Even with a few downsides, I came away extremely impressed with the overall value. Let me know your thoughts in the comment section!

My neighbor just got one, and it's stunning to look at.

I liked the look of that generation, but waited to see what the 5th generation was going to be. Gobsmacked by the absolute change in direction of the design team. Too late to find my preferred trim in a ‘23, I just put off buying anything. Now, surprisingly, I’ve grudgingly accepted the new look, but I find that locating a ‘25 hybrid calligraphy in the colors I want has been exceedingly difficult here in the middle of the country. Most dealers don’t want to take orders for one, but to sell you what they have on the lor.

I have my 2023 Santa Fe calligraphy for just over a year now. Shimmering silver. Love this suv! It’s a poor man’s Genisis. 😂

Nice and fair review. I bought a 2023 Santa Fe Calligraphy 3 weeks, 1, 860 miles ago. I'm not at all bothered by start/stop, but don't commute and avoid cities. Engine and transmission are great, averaging about 25mpg. My only complaint thus far is that the outboard armrests are too small and hard.
I have no need for a 3rd row, and I don't like the look of the new model. Literally prompted me to buy this while I could get one. $3, 500 below msrp using Costco auto and Hyundai rebate. I'm glad I bought it, and I would buy it again.

I am happy with my 2023 Calligraphy. Traded up from 2018 Ultimate and love it. As others have said, its an affordable Genesis. 😊 I looked at the GV70 and found many of the features and cabin materials in the Calligraphy for less money.

The on/off issue is annoying. But its already routine for me to turn it off as i press "accept" on the center screen.

But the pickup is great and its very quiet on the highway.

I am not a fan of the 2024, so glad i got this one while i could.

Thanks for all the vids you done on the 2023.🎉

Thanks for the good review. I enjoyed it. I bought a Santa Fe Hybrid Calligraphy 9 months ago. It is ultra comfortable, spacious and a beautiful smooth, luxurious ride.
The tech is brilliant and it's the best car I've ever owned and driven. It gets great fuel consumption figures averaging around 7 litres per 100 km around the city, but often drops below this if I just cruise languidly. Heaps of room for my tennis equipment as a tennis coach. My only reservation is that the 1.6 litre turbo engine does have to rev high if you accelerate hard.

What car manufacturers need to do is to make that auto stop start option disabled from the factory and if you want to use it, press the button …..not the other way around

My 2002 Avalanche died, and I’m drawn to the Palisade and the Santa Fe (Calligraphy models) Parking Assist and massaging seats seem like a dream. Tell me pros and cons please.

Can you have a mechanic permanently disconnect the on and off engine stop button?

I am looking at getting the Santa Fe Calligraphy trim bc it's equally as nice as a Genesis GV70 2.5T (which is the same or a similar engine as the Santa Fe Limited & Calligraphy with more HP) for way less $$
