My criteria for flies are a) quick and easy to tie and b) catch fish. This fits the mold for sure. Thanks for continuous inspiration and tutorials, Tristan!

I’m a beginner in tying. This is the best demonstration of whip finishing I’ve seen. I’ve watched that part of the vid multiple times. Thank you so much. I’m a beginner also at Tenkara, so I love all your videos.

Nicely done! I've watched some of your vids where the ID-KK worked well for you. One thing I learned many yrs ago that really helps secure the hackle... instead of stripping the rachis, cut the barbules making nubs for the same length as you would strip. It takes an extra sec or two but really gives the tying silk something extra to grip the feather.

Tristan, this video and your great website is going to get me into fly tying. I really appreciate all your videos on Tenkara Addict…they played a big role in my renewed love for fly fishing.

Excellent! Oh, how I wish there had been instructional videos this clear and concise when I began tying! ... but, of course, that was long ago in that time before the internet! Well done — wish you much success with this new channel and your great new online fly yarn store.

Excellent. I tie kebari flies and fish them with normal gear. I love them. I hope to see more clips from you. Best wishes. :-)

I use just a little bit of raw bee's wax on my thread to increase it's hold on the hackle when I tie it in. when I am finishing tying in a hackle to tying off a hackle I put a wrap in front of the feather alternating with the thread around the hackle, this helps to keep the feather from slipping through the tie off point and unraveling. If you want to pick up a few tips on tying technique, The Feather Bender (Barry Ord Clarke) does a great job of teaching while demonstrating Fly Tying.

Could you do videos on how to tie more of the flies that you use in your fishing videos in Montana?
