They’ve always shared engines, chassis and styling with the Pug 108? C1and Aygo being the same car, and as you point out regularly the Renault, Vauxhall et al are the same.
I was looking up the Suzuki Swift engines the other day, you wouldn’t believe the different cars in the Suzuki range use the same engine along with dozens of other manufacturers also rebadging it.
Economically it makes sense.
