You still owe the money
If you can’t pay the rent now how will you pay 11 months accrued rent?

Never should have imposed a moratorium without due process. Took money away from landlords and gave it away. Now its a payback time

This is the reason I bought a house in Central Valley it’s cheaper to own a house here than rent in the Bay Area, don’t get me wrong I loved the Bay but my wife and I decided buy a house now or have this problem not able to pay high rent. I know I’m 80 miles from the Bay, I commute everyday but at the end of the day I know my kids have home call home.

Let the government pay for the renters if they impose moratorium

People are living in a dream world if they think people are going to get to still stay in a rental and not Time to pay up or get out!!

How about this: the government get the hell out of the way of working taxpayers.

We bail out banks in their times of need but banks tighten their grip and demand payment in our time of need.... sounds like a fair trade

Isn’t it a little peculiar that the revenue authorities of fed, states, county’s, locals, don’t want to grant tax credits to screwed landlords nor forgive real estate taxes owed, for starters?

Moritotiums do no good because the tenant is still subject to the fees owed and if they were barely making it before the covid pandemic how can they expect to bounce back so easily

Nobody care, my aunt's tenant has not made rent since May, when they have the fund to make the payment for May and June, when July 3 she asked me to sign off an affidavit that they are back rent, when they have jobs and money to pay the rent, they are asking me to lie to government for free money, after I refused, they stop making rent to us at all, they have received the stimulus check total $2700, they have enough fund to pay the May and June rent, after that, they lied, and state they are having hardship. What hardship, when they have money for down payment for a new car and make car payment and stop making rent. I have cell phone text that they confirmed that they have the money to pay for May and June rent as July 2. They have jobs. Who will make $99, 000 dollars annually in California, in order for landlord to look at their bank statement in order to prove they are lying. David Chiu does not care that pain of landlord in California. Doing the right thing is not protecting the tenants who live there rent free. And there is no court there to protect the landlord in California. David Chiu should not be our government officer at all. He is not there to protect their landlords, just protecting the tenant who live at my aunt's property rent free for how long, since May 2020. This is not right.

To landlords: if you evict someone and the house is vacant, how do you come up with money to continue paying the

I don’t see how waiting until 2022 would be better, when the renters would owe more which will make it impossible to get it current on their rent. So what’s the point of prolonging the pain for both landlords and tenants, now that we have a vaccine?

I think it should have been the people's choice to work or not.

11 more months? These homes will default. No doubt about that. Landlords are just simple people with bills to pay just like renters.

I'm waiting for the day when I can load a shopping cart full of groceries and walk out without paying.
