ICGE II| Keynote Address| Dr. Jayati Ghosh| Gender and Work- Emerging Challenges: The COVID Pandemic

Renowned economist and academic Dr. Jayati Ghosh delivered the keynote address of ICGE II on the topic "Gender and Work- Emerging Challenges: The COVID Pandemic" in the presence of KK Shailaja Teacher, Minister for Health, Social Justice and Women & Child Development, Govt of Kerala, on February 11, 2021.

The second edition of the International Conference on Gender Equality (ICGE II) was organized by The Gender Park in partnership with UN Women. The conference was held on February 11, 12 and 13, 2021, at The Gender Park campus in Kozhikode, Kerala. The three-day conference was organized by strictly adhering to COVID-19 safety protocol, and a large number of speakers and participants attended ICGE through virtual platforms.

The Gender Park (ജെൻഡർ പാർക്ക്), established in 2013, is an initiative under the Department of Women & Development, Government of Kerala, to work towards gender equality and empowerment in the state. Headquartered in the state’s capital-Thiruvananthapuram- its main 24-acre campus is set at Kozhikode (Calicut). UN Women and The Gender Park have entered into an equal partnership to develop the Park as a South Asian hub for gender equality. The key initiatives of The Gender Park include She Taxi, International Conference on Gender Equality (ICGE), Gender Library, Gender Museum, WiSE fellowship programme, and International Women’s Trade Centre (iWTC).
