The anti-oloid itself may not have an application, but a mechanism based on its geometry actually makes a terrific vat mixer. Two crank arms offset by 90°, a way to fix a barrel between them. Put the components to be mixed (usually dry ones) in the barrel, fix it in the mechanism, and away it goes with a tumbling motion.

If you use these as bearings between plates, you can introduce fluid flow directly at the bearings, and it will rotate the bearings, thus smoothly translating the two plates in anti-parallel fashion. You can do this with a normal screw, though.

There is also a version that isn't a ring, "filled in" so it always has a line of contact with a flat surface, much easier to see how it rolls on that one. Yes I do have both in the room with me.
