COVID cases rise sharply in Louisiana

COVID-19 cases continue to rise sharply in Louisiana, including here in the northwest region of the state. The Department of Health is reporting more than 2,800 new cases today, making it the second consecutive day with more than 2,000 new cases and the third so far this week. 84% of the cases in the state are the omicron variant. 384 new cases have been reported in northwest Louisiana since Wednesday.
