Dancers Marge and Gower Champion, were the definition of Poetry In Motion. Married October 1947, divorced 1973. These three uploads celebrate their appearance in LOVELY TO LOOK AT (1952), one of only 7 movies that they were in together. These movies were done from 1950 to 1955. Terrific! Merci! What a delight. They remind me of one of my favorite musical numbers from this era where a man and woman sing and dance across the floor, down the elevator and into the street and I'm talking about Bing Crosby and Jane Wyman singing and dancing to the Hoagy Carmichael/Johnny Mercer song, "Cool, Cool, Cool of the Evening, " from the film, HERE COMES THE GROOM. Dorothy Fields, who rewrote the lyrics to the song for "Roberta" with Fred and Ginger, rewrote some of the lyrics again for this version. The intro is completely different (and very clever), and the line about doing "the Continental" is replaced with a rhyme with "accidental".
