Shown in this video is a three blade split back whittler, Case pattern 6308 made special order for me in D2 blade steel and dark brown dyed hand tanned armadillo leather handle scales. This is a handle option that Jerry does himself. The texturing and armor plating of the animal hide make this a dandy pocket folder and an even better user because its grippy. See my other videos of a couple of these folders by Jerry that he has for sale as of June/July 2012. I own several other examples of Jerry's work including other splitback whittlers but the two I own in D2 are my favorites I think. Jerry has, since working with D2 by requests now started offering it as well as the 01 so for $325 to $400 depending on bells which and what you ask of him you can own one also. If you have priced other multi blade handmade folders you know that this is a bargain compared to other makers. Also, the way Jerry domes his pivot heads really aids in preventing that pesky side to side blade play exhibited by others and yes I own some of those also. They are pretty to look at with the milled liners and hidden pins but if you use them, I mean actually use them the way anyone uses a knife you get side to side blade play pretty quick. That is not the case when the maker anticipates this by making real world users as Jerry Barlow does. So if you want a display piece Jerry is not your man. Get you a Morrow or Ruple and that will suffice nicely there. For a user you want pocket worn and not squared off display pieces that will simply work their way through a pocket. If you want a user Jerry Barlow in Watts Oklahoma is the man to find.
