I'm Brazilian and obviously I love picanha! It's not my favorite cut of meat but it's absolutely delicious. You can cook however you want if you don't have the means to make it the "original" way. I would just advise to use just salt because all you want is the taste of the meat. Also, rare/medium rare for me is the way to go.

I wouldn't call it a dish, though. It's just a cut of meat.

As a Brazilian, picanha is the best! Especially with some rice, farofa, and vinaigrette. I will say two things though, one is that all it needs for seasoning is salt, and the other is it’ll be delicious however you cook it, we actually put it in a broiler pan and broil it in the oven and it comes out fantastic!

I ate some tonight! I used your video of how to butcher your own Rumps. It's fantastic. Great flavour, and great texture. Thanks for your great videos! Go Qld.

Yes here in the US it’s called the petite cut off a top sirloin
That cut of steak and the low price point compared to other gourmet cuts is one of my all time favorites grilled over mesquite with the fat cap on.
Tender and full of flavor!!
Great on you for calling it out 👍

I get these at almost every bbq. It’s up there with ribeyes as some of the best steaks you can buy

Picanha is my go to cut for Christmas dinners nowadays, and when I had a charcoal grill it was a favourite there too. Beautiful, tender, juicy and flavoursome meat that’s easy to cook and while it’s gorgeous over charcoal, is even good done in the oven as long as it’s not overdone.

Love your content Chef Andy I’m an amateur in the kitchen and I didn’t know you could do half of this stuff at home so simply and easy

Kensington Place restaurant in London used this cut for Sunday roasts way back in the early 90's. Aiguillette of Beef was very cheap back then and totally delicious when prepared well. Serves up beautiful slices of lean tender meat.

My number one dish from 2023 was homemade Lebanese style hamburgers. Yes, they are not new in any way but I absolutely love them, they give me incredible nostalgia and are downright delicious!

That looks like what is called a top sirloin steak here in Texas. They can be tough if cooked like a regular steak but I sliced one thin yesterday and used it for beef and broccoli and it was excellent! My son smokes the roast ( on a gas grill) and it is also delicious.

So good. Just need to add some farofa to dip the slices in. Hard to find in the USA at times but some Costcos are starting sell it if there isn’t a Brazilian market around.

The way to prepare it with a certain cut of steak….. picanha is definitely a dish

My favourite dish is a good pasta carbonara btw, I’m still learning how to cook but I’ve already mastered that and it’s absolutely delicious 🤤

exquisite cut, one of my favorites. I'm from Argentina and I make it in several ways, one you should try is a very thin cut and grilled over high heat for 15 seconds per side...a delicacy

Thx!!! I buy a “sirloin” exactly like that at Costco in Yucatán, MX. And it is delicious.

Married to a Brazilian, it's basically the only steak we buy. It also helps it's only 6.99 a pound at Costco.

Going to try this on my gas grill here in the southeastern US. Hoping at some Pont, you cone to southern US and the mountains of Appalachia for good food and different southern cooking. Loved your Tennessee trip and hot Nasvilke chicken
