She owns those CDs. You pay a monthly subscription to listen to songs you won't even remember existed 5 years from now. There's a difference...

Physical albums are not the same as digital songs. Don’t throw those away. For digitalis, you can’t touch it, you can’t play it on a player, you can’t share them with friends. There’s the collection aspect and then the fact that you own them. They (should) sound better and it’s easier to browse through what you like instead of having a playlist or searching up singles. It’s not clutter or junk. It’s a collection. You don’t have to listen to them every day or week for them to have value, you can listen to them when you’re in the right mood. Not every song is available somewhere digitally, and there’s no issues with companies or apps shutting down or losing your subscriptions or licensing issues.

I think mom's got a point here... when you use digital services you kinda lose control of what you hear... its like the service choosing for you... some do like that but others dont!

I kept all my vinyl (400 albums) and cassettes (200) when everyone was selling and giving them away in the late 80s. So glad i did, recently started playing them again and also buying more. Same with CDs, i have 2000+ here and they're not going anywhere.

There are about 1200 CD’s that still stay with me. 1 is a Rare Slipknot CD of their first Album that is unfinished in the mix, and some songs are longer. 2 A Blue Nirvana Nevermind CD that has 2 bonus tracks. 3 A live Skinny Puppy CD Left Hand Shake. 4 Portishead Third Signed

not all artist and songs are on digital apps or due to licensing rights some songs get taken down after their right to use is expired. also if you like to support your artist, Spotify isn't the best way, buying their physical media will be better support. also listening to an album from beginning to end is a ride. Ever listen to a record in a dedicated listening room with an awesome system and top tier record player? it's an experience that you don't get with digital audio (especially with Spotify's lame streaming quality).
IMO records sound amazing and allow you to feel and hear nuances you would have missed due to digital compression and CDs sound so much better than any MP3.
