What can HIV teach us about human aging?

The question of HIV and aging has received much attention in the last few years because of evidence that HIV accelerates the aging process.

"What we're seeing is that patients with HIV have additional problems because of the aging but also may have an acceleration of the aging process," said UCSF's Paul Volberding. In this video, he also talks about how studying this issue to address the problems people with HIV may encounter as they age may teach about the aging process itself.
