Hello HFG,
I generally agree with most of what you post and it helped me secure a banking restructuring position at a top boutique.

But these are actually bad answers, I think people could get dinged by replicating them word per word.
Why?
1. You focus on the learning experience as your first genuine answer to the question. As an interviewer (especially if it's a VP & above ) I am thinking "OK true, but this dude just wants to get his 2 years of learning and GTFO... DING"
I like the "work ethic" emphasis at the end, I would develop that

2. "rewarded for my own performance" and "competitive sports" in that same answer do not match well. A deal is a team effort, a team process and a team business. If you are going to talk about sports and competitive sports please bring up the team-orientation of it. If the interviewer feels that you are gonna be a super competitive backstabbing non-team player, it will be a ding too...
The last sentence was good about proving yourself and being an asset to the team. But the word "TEAM" comes too late IMHO.

The 2 generalizations at the end are generally true but there is a way of framing it and I just would have done it differently...

My 2 cents,

Cheers
