*"Hatred and fear are a mirror; love is a window."*

That's just fucking DEEP man. Basically, hate and fear are reflections of ourselves and the things we hate and fear, whereas love is hope for something better that we've yet to experience. What a way with words, that Guillermo del Toro.

Amazing that Flanagan's childhood fear was being alone in the dark; I feel like I have never seen ANYONE film a dark, empty room like he can, it's terrifying

not only are they great directors, but they are also great human beings. I could watch them talk for hours. I hope someday they will work together.

‘Horror is healing’ - this has SO many layers. Horror is like trauma and is uncomfortable and terrifying by nature, but if you work through it properly and find your courage, you come out the other side alive, wiser and able to move forward

Flanagan wearing a "una película de Guillermo del Toro" shirt is just great

"Horror can be such an effective mirror" and "We are all monsters at the end of the day, can we live with that?", how accurate words and how monumental lessons from these masters of the genre. Also, the way Mr. Flanagan has reimagined the concept of horror and transformed it into something deeper like sorrow and pain... wow.

8:30 i love that guillermo mentions horror that makes you cry and learn about yourself. that's exactly what mike's Midnight Mass was for me. terrifying, but also cathartic. i love how he describes that kind of horror as "frescos" because it's just so fitting. i'm in love with this interview. i need the full 2 hour cut!

When Flanagan talked about how being afraid of the dark or to go alone in the dark as a kid explains so much about his projects. Looking at how he plays with the idea of things lurking in the darkness in his shows and movies is among the best I've seen from any director.

Horror truly is healing. I couldn’t agree more. As a horror fan - there’s something comforting about the genre. What a fantastic interview.

Cabinet of Curiosities is the itch I couldn’t scratch since Tales from the Crypt. Guillermo del Toro, thank you for bringing us this much needed horror anthology series🙏

Loved this conversation, but as a librarian all the books being backwards on the shelf is my worst fear

GDT's Frankenstein would be the most incredible film ever made. I would weep for joy if that happened.
