I wish to add another reflection: Greeks with citizenship rights aspired to be recognized by their community, and it was not an individualistic act, but rather an act with social value. Recognition was measured in regulated acts - races, wars, theater competitions, ...-
On the other hand, personal daimon were merit or caused by the gods and not by oneself.
Today's individualism does not seek exemplarity in the shared values desired by the community, but rather in fame in standing out whatever the cause.
