So, this is kind of a secret spot that the locals know about on the side of magical Neah-kah-nie Mountain, a few miles from where I live.  It's a very narrow and kind of treacherous finger of land that juts out way over the ocean with steep drops to the cold water below.  The music is so very fitting for this geographic place....there are people drawn here for spiritual reasons, serendipitous reasons and, unfortunately, people who come here to die by jumping off the cliffs into the water.  This place was recognized by the native americans as a power spot and it remains so today.  Nice to see such a beautiful song recorded there that will gain such national attention.  Oh, to set the record straight, it's in Manzanita/Nehalem, Oregon and in Oswald West State Park, in north Tillamook county.  This place is nothing like Cannon Beach energy which is where you'll find CEOs and more high profile/high bankroll folk.  The Neahkahnie Mountain energy speaks mostly to artists, seekers, dreamers and spiritual folk....

This recording does the place honor...   Gave me goosebumps.

The second time I listened to this, it was with high quality headphones. My god, the sound of the wind and the birds adds so much to the composition.

This song, and this rendition of it, haunts my very bones. One thing I love about old timey songs: their lyrics frequently dive into painful subjects and dwell on them. But who, who has thought about the mystery of existence, hasn't asked the questions the singer asks?

I find this a very haunting and soulful song - it hits to the bottom of my heart. Love their m music, her singing .... and her talking. She has so much to say if we listen.

This is a great Sacred Harp tune. Well done for just the tenor part and a nice banjo part to go with it.

RedSpiritHands comment is accurate. I have been there many times. The comment on the difference between Manzanita and Cannon Beach is also accurate.

The first time I heard Bela was on a classical radio station playing Bach. I was thinking. What a beautiful sounding instrument... is that a Banjo? Naw...
