Hey all, make sure to check out the description for specific stage timecodes. There's over a hundred which is why the chapter function doesn't work. Editing and timecoding this video took quite a while but I'm happy with the result. I wanted to get this game uploaded atleast one week after the release of the game so I don't put out any spoilers.

I've had good fun with this title. It's a remake of the original GBA game which I fortunately never got to play (it's up on the channel, but posted by another team member) so this was a totally new experience for me. Whilst some stages left me a little annoyed and surely it's not as amazing as Mario Wonder, it still felt addicting enough to keep telling myself "just one more stage".

The difficulty seems to ramp up a bit throughout the game, but more importantly is that each world has new gimmicks to deal with. Once all worlds are beaten, you unlock the Expert levels (which are actually just Extra stages, as I didn't find them any more difficult than the main game) and the Plus levels. The Plus part of the game is just more puzzles, again not particularly any more difficult, but also shorter than the main game as it features just one section as opposed to two with a checkpoint inbetween.

There might be a few stages you'll struggle with, but overall this game shouldn't be too puzzling. Nintendo games aren't about puzzle complexity imo, but rather about everything else. It's precisely what I enjoy Nintendo games for, because I get to share them with people who aren't very good at games in general like my fiancee lol. There's also an easier difficulty added to this game which probably makes it impossible to die. I haven't tested it yet

This remake introduces 2 new stages, and that means 34 new levels (8 for each normal world, 7 for each world+, and 2 expert levels based on both normal and world+).
I remember the original 6 worlds like the back of my hand, and how the GBA version (I didn't say "original" because DK94 for the GBC holds that title) had a scoring system that was dependent on you collecting all 3 presents and how much time you left on the clock.
After you collect all 3 presents, there was a bonus minigame that you would play to get extra lives. It could be one of two: Stop the Arrow or Swap Boxes. There was even a small tutorial video that plays before each main level so you could understand the gimmicks/strategies used in each one.
I still remember clearly how to get over 50000 points in World 1-2, and that's by using one hammer to eliminate the enemies. It starts off at 300 for the first enemy, then the score gets doubled and added in this way:
300 + 600 + 1200 + ... and so on.
But the caveat was that the hammer you use doesn't respawn, so you had to rack up all those points fast.
I wish they could have kept the scoring system so that veterans of this game sort of have a challenge to this game that was in the original instead of just collecting all 3 presents in the levels.

Fun fact: This isn't the new voice actor for the remake, they recycled Charles Martinet's voice clips for this game. It really feels like a remake, despite not having the funny dialogue in the original.

I haven't played the original game, so I have no idea how this is as a remake. But as a game, it's a pretty fun mix of a platformer and a puzzle game. I enjoyed it.

They did a Great job on the Remake. Ive actually Playing the OG for the GBA. The GBA belonged to my Uncle (my dad's brother) And I remember in 2018 I found it in my grandma's Basement and saw it came with Mario Vs DK. When I started playing it It was very fun. And I have actually tried the remake and it is also fun. The Difference i notice between the 2 is in the GBA version When you put a key in the Door the music stops and mario says "okey dokey, lets a Go!" And also the Bonus stage with presents after you get the 3 gifts of each stage. Which the switch lacks. Ik theres more than that but thats what im gonna point out. But anyways It is still a great game and is a much Better improvement Compared to the Game boy Advance Variant. Glad the Nostalgia is still in it

I’m loving this game. I never played the original so I’m going into it fresh. I noticed that it’s super Duper easy though. Are these puzzles made for little kids? Not a knock I’m seriously just wondering.

Those Mini Mario Toys Are So Annoying When They Say Oh Mario

Isn't it uncomfortable that the starting plot to the game is donkey (Nintendo licensed character) is written to have seen a Mario (Nintendo licensed character) toy (which is real and available for sale by Nintendo) which they want ~so~ badly it starts the story for the game.

It's a product placement in a game, where the writing is controlled by the product, using the company's own products (characters) in a game you already paid for at a premium price.

Nintendo makes me uncomfortable 😢
